Charles II Oak Bible Box
From the reign of King Charles II1640-1660, this old oak box with deep carved details was used as a chest to store bibles. The box retains all orginial metal work on the clasp and hinges. It is redimentry inside and the carved organic floral emblishment details on the exterior panels are rustic and portray the tools of the period. The grain of the warm oak is undamaged and appears rich and glossy following wax treatment and polishing. Dimensions: H: 31cm, W: 66cm D: 47cm.
